The Loup Noir cattery is a small familial breeding program, near Strasbourg (France), dedicated to the Turkish Angora and the Turkish Van.

After having adopted many stray cats from animal shelters, we involved ourselves into the world of pure breed cats, beginning with the most traditional French breed, the Birmans. While studying the possible roots of this breed, we discovered the long forgotten Turkish Angoras and then their cousins the Turkish Vans.

Our first Angoras came from Germany then the following from the Netherlands and Italy. The very last one comes from the Czech Republic.

Our Vans came from France.

The Loup Noir (meaning black mask) pays tribute to the King of our cattery, whose mask and furry coat are as superb as his temper, a true Turkish Angora!
